Installing this update over the factory version has dramatically increased ghosting between pages, especially on graphic content, (cbz) despite being set to full page refresh every page. I hope it has fixed some other bugs, (like the random pop ups saying that this content is not compatible with the stylus I do not have.),,, but I think they tried to push performance when it was not at all needed.

Do you have the Attempt to support newer firmware checkbox checked on the 3rd page of the KoboTouch/KoboTouchExtended driver configuration dialog?

Yes, I do, for the KoboTouch driver. I (wrongly) made an assumption that the OP had as well.

I haven't seen anyone mention this but for me the database corruption bug seems gone.

With the same content as my Sage my Libra Colour never (yet) corrupted it database even though I purposefully don't take any precautions. I plug it while a book is open, I don't run fsck while it's plugged, etc. It works.

You really should go to the home screen before you plug in just to be safe.

I connected to Calibre my Libra Colour with a KEPUB open and no DB corruption happened either.

As a software programmer myself my position is that I, the user, should not have to care about this. If the software let me do it then it should work. I'm just happy the problem seem to be fixed and I can go back to not have to care and let the software do its job.

Thing is, on 4.38, I've plugged in my L2 while I was in the middle of a book (because I fand it worked. I've done this a few times when I've forgotten to go back to the home screen. So just because it worked doesn't mean it works.

You won't know until many more people on MR have a new Kobo with the new firmware. Besides, you will end up at home screen anyway when you eject and unplug.

That's the problem with a bug like this. It's intermittent and if it still exists, it can pop up at any time. I do hope it's fixed. But if too many others do the reboot before connecting, we may never know if it's fixed.

I like Reddit for a reason : you can upvote a great answer, and downvote the noise to a question.

You get my vote.

I configured my Kobo to control shut down after 60 minutes just because of this.

From the feedback I've received, the database corruption issue should be fixed in 4.39.22861. The key word there was should so keep an eye open.
